Members, Turffontein gave us a very useful worksheet-reading day.

This was not a perfect card, and a few races were tricky, but the system gave us some very good signs. The strongest positive was that the worksheet found several winners inside the main top-output signals, especially through the Speed Rating, Race Suitability, Natural Factors and Final + Suitability areas.

The card produced some good results from a system point of view, with Knight Heist, Doctor Strangelove, Into Dancing, Dame Of Trix, Kia Kaha, Blushing Bloom, and Legendary all showing up in important parts of the worksheet.

The biggest miss was Race 5 — Frangipani, who did not appear strongly enough in the main top-output view.

Main Highlights

Race 1 Strong System Result

Race 1 — Knight Heist

Knight Heist was one of the strongest worksheet horses in the opener and came through to win.

This was a very good start for the system because the winner appeared strongly across the main worksheet signals.

Race 3 Winner Found

Race 3 — Doctor Strangelove

Doctor Strangelove was visible in the worksheet outputs and won the maiden over 2000m.

The race also produced a good result shape, with Epidaurus and Evening News running into the places.

Race 4 Winner Found

Race 4 — Into Dancing

Into Dancing showed up as a strong system runner and got the job done.

This was one of the better worksheet reads because the winner had support across more than one important signal.

Race 6 Speed Warning Delivered

Race 6 — Dame Of Trix

Dame Of Trix was one of the key Speed Rating horses and won the 1000m sprint.

This is exactly why we must keep respecting the speed column, especially in sprint races.

Race 7 Speed Warning Delivered

Race 7 — Kia Kaha

Kia Kaha also came from the speed side of the worksheet and won.

This was another important sprint result and confirms again that speed protection is very important in these races.

Race 8 Winner Found

Race 8 — Blushing Bloom

Blushing Bloom was not the top speed horse, but she did appear in the main worksheet support areas and won the race.

This was a useful system result because the winner was not completely hidden from the worksheet view.

Race 9 Value/System Runner WON

Race 9 — Legendary

Legendary showed up as a system/value runner and won the final race.

This was a strong finish for the worksheet because the winner was visible in the main outputs and delivered at the right time.

Race-by-Race Summary

Race 1

Winner: Knight Heist

Knight Heist came out very strongly in the worksheet and won the opener.

Snowblade was the short-priced favourite but could only finish 4th.

Result: Strong worksheet result.

Race 2

Winner: Winter Voice

Winter Voice won the race, while Feast Of Berries ran 2nd and Empress Of Peace ran 3rd.

The worksheet leaned more strongly toward Feast Of Berries and the other main-profile runners, while Winter Voice was not one of the strongest overall calls.

Result: Winner not strongly enough promoted.

Race 3

Winner: Doctor Strangelove

Doctor Strangelove appeared inside the main worksheet thinking and won.

Epidaurus ran 2nd, Evening News ran 3rd, and Inclusion ran 4th.

Result: Winner found from the system view.

Race 4

Winner: Into Dancing

Into Dancing was visible across the worksheet outputs and won.

Surprise Party ran 2nd at a big price, while Future Gamble ran 3rd.

Result: Good worksheet result, with the winner coming from the system signals.

Race 5

Winner: Frangipani

This was the weakest race from the worksheet point of view.

Frangipani won, but she was not strong enough in the main top-output view. Rosy Lemon ran 2nd, Instant Attraction ran 3rd, Apostrophe ran 4th, and Play With Fire ran 5th.

Result: Main system miss.

Race 6

Winner: Dame Of Trix

Dame Of Trix was a strong speed warning and won the sprint.

Lovable ran 2nd, Anchorage ran 3rd, Miss Argonaut ran 4th, and Just The Two Of Us ran 5th.

Result: Good Speed Rating result.

Race 7

Winner: Kia Kaha

Kia Kaha was also a strong speed-side runner and won.

Tempranillo ran 2nd, Power Of Pearls ran 3rd, Blindfire ran 4th, and Duchess Zahra ran 5th.

Result: Good sprint-system result.

Race 8

Winner: Blushing Bloom

Blushing Bloom appeared in the main worksheet support areas and won the race.

Princess Lola ran 2nd, Princess Keira ran 3rd, Princess Ilaria ran 4th, and Southampton ran 5th.

Result: Winner found from the worksheet support signals.

Race 9

Winner: Legendary

Legendary appeared as a system/value runner and won the last race.

Bloomington ran 2nd, Tracksuit Dave ran 3rd, Lava Fire ran 4th, and Six Of All ran 5th.

Result: Strong final-race result from the worksheet.

What Worked Well

Speed Rating Was Important

Race 6 and Race 7 again showed why the speed column must be respected.

Dame Of Trix and Kia Kaha both came from strong speed positions and both won sprint races.

That is a very important system lesson.

Multi-Signal Horses Performed Well

The better system results came from horses that appeared in more than one important column.

That applied to runners like:

Knight Heist
Into Dancing
Blushing Bloom
Legendary

When a horse appears across more than one worksheet signal, it must stay close in the final race view.

Final Race Value Worked

Legendary winning the last race was a very good result from the worksheet perspective.

These are the types of runners that can lift a card when they are respected properly.

What Did Not Work

Race 5 Was The Main Miss

Frangipani was not strong enough in the main worksheet output and still won.

That race needs a closer review because it shows that some horses can slip through when they are not prominent enough in the main system columns.

Race 2 Winner Was Not Strongly Promoted

Winter Voice won, but Feast Of Berries was the stronger obvious worksheet/market runner.

That is a reminder that juvenile races can be tricky and should not be treated too narrowly.

Market Favourites Did Not Always Deliver

Snowblade, Feast Of Berries, Inclusion, Future Gamble, Instant Attraction, Jazz Pianist and Blushing Bloom were all strong market runners in different races, but not every favourite won.

This card again showed that the market must be respected, but not followed blindly.

Improvement Lessons

1. Keep protecting strong Speed Rating horses in sprints

Race 6 and Race 7 proved this again.

If a horse is high in the Speed Rating column in a 1000m race, it must be considered seriously for the final selections and exotics.

2. Horses appearing in multiple columns must stay alive

If a runner appears across Speed, Natural, Final, Suitability or Final + Suitability, we must not cut it too easily.

These horses are often the ones that win or run into the frame.

3. Juvenile races need cover

Race 1 and Race 2 were both juvenile races.

Knight Heist delivered well, but Winter Voice showed that the less obvious juvenile can still pop up.

These races must be treated with care.

4. Race 5 needs a deeper review

Frangipani was the main system miss.

We need to check whether she had hidden support from market, draw, trainer/jockey, form improvement, or distance suitability that was not being weighted strongly enough.

5. Final-leg value runners must be respected

Legendary winning Race 9 was a good reminder that the final leg can reward value if the worksheet has the horse somewhere in the main system view.

Final Summary

Overall, the Turffontein worksheet produced:

Race 1 — Knight Heist found strongly
Race 3 — Doctor Strangelove found
Race 4 — Into Dancing found
Race 6 — Dame Of Trix won from a strong speed signal
Race 7 — Kia Kaha won from a strong speed signal
Race 8 — Blushing Bloom found in the support signals
Race 9 — Legendary won as a system/value runner

The negatives were:

Race 2 — Winter Voice not promoted strongly enough
Race 5 — Frangipani missed from the main worksheet view
A few short-priced runners were beaten

This was a useful results card for the system.

The biggest positive is that the worksheet continued to identify live runners through the main signals, especially Speed Rating and multi-column support.

The biggest lesson is that sprint speed ratings and multi-signal horses must be protected properly, while Race 5 must be reviewed to understand why Frangipani was not stronger in the output.

We take the positives, review the misses, and keep improving the worksheet.

You can never go broke making a profit.
